Creative Space Beirut is a Beirut-based free fashion design school and social enterprise, empowering young designers from underserved backgrounds across the SWANA region. Their online shop brings their students’ and alumni’s work to a global audience — selling limited edition collections, student and alumni designs, and CSB products, with proceeds supporting the school’s free education program.
The store was already on Shopify, but it wasn’t doing justice to what CSB represents. The design felt scattered, the product catalog lacked a coherent structure, and the shopping experience read like a generic product listing rather than a window into one of the region’s most compelling creative organizations. The designers and alumni behind the products were invisible. The school’s mission — the very reason the shop exists — was nowhere to be felt. The store needed more than a facelift. It needed a complete rethinking of how it tells its story.
The central challenge of this project was not technical — it was conceptual. We redesigned the store around an editorial approach that puts CSB’s identity, students, and mission at the heart of the experience. Every design decision was made to ensure the store feels like an extension of the school, not a separate commercial operation. The result is a shopping environment that is visually distinctive, emotionally resonant, and true to the creative energy CSB embodies.
One of the most meaningful changes we made was making the people behind the products visible. Student designers and alumni are now featured throughout the store — their names, their stories, their work given proper presence. Buying from the CSB shop now feels like directly supporting a designer, not just purchasing a product.
The existing catalog was reorganized from the ground up. We defined a clean product taxonomy, established the right collections and categories, and reconfigured the store’s infrastructure to support intuitive filtering and browsing. Critically, we also worked through the existing product data to bring it in line with the new framework — ensuring the store launched on solid, well-organized foundations.
We redesigned the full navigation and shopping flow to match how CSB’s audience actually engages with the brand — by designer, by collection, by product type. The experience guides visitors naturally from discovery to purchase, without losing the editorial quality that makes the store distinctive.
Post-launch, we continued supporting the CSB team through major moments — seasonal drops, collection launches, and most notably the annual fashion show, helping translate the energy of each event into a compelling online experience. We collaborated closely with the team on marketing and campaign execution to ensure the store performed at every peak moment.
The Creative Space Beirut shop now reflects the organization it serves — considered, creative, and purposeful. A store that presents the work, celebrates the designers behind it, and tells the CSB story as clearly as it sells its products.
